I wanted to create a quilt with my own patterned paper, so I stenciled over previous painted papers and cut 1.5 and 2 inch squares to start making the design. To make it easier for me, I traced a diagonal on the card stock and then I glued one square on each side of that line and from then, I started gluing one on each side of those until I completed the page. There are many tutorials on the web about National Geographic magazines and Citrasolv where I learned this technique but, I've never seen how it works with stencils so I had to try. I hope you get inspired to do it, you can get beautiful and unexpected results. Citrasolv is a cleaner and degreaser, which will remove the ink creating wonderful backgrounds that you can use for your collages. Sometimes while creating I find myself thinking out of the box and this time I was going to make a wonky town but that huge tree came to my mind and I finally did like a forest town, totally unexpected!!
