Shaker Journal Page
Watching a shaker card video tutorial I thought, why not to make a shaker journal page? So I did it on a old book where I took off some pages to make room for the cardboard, the acetate and sequins. #heart #painting #coffee #blog #ink #journalspread #image #mixedmedia #color #shaker #gelliprints #paint #journal #handmade #design #collage

Wabi-Sabi Painting
I took an online class of Wabi-sabi and immediately felt in love with the concept. I used acrylic inks, India inks, acrylic high flow paints and Lotka paper. In traditional Japanese aesthetics, Wabi-sabi is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete". It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence, specifically i

Journal Spread Video Tutorial
This project and video are part of the #thanks4watchingart 3 video hop, event which is a collaboration of art videos by the Creative Arts Collaboration Group. Please visit the channels listed in the description box and if you want, like, share and subscribe. There was a challenge for this hop and we had to choose a technique seen in a video from a previous #thanks4watchingart event (1 and 2). I chose a journal spread by Hanny Tromp where she uses molding paste with a stencil

Live Life in Full Color Journal Spread
I'm participating in a video hop called #thanksforwatchingart and this time the idea was using a technique from an artist who made a video on a previous event. This specific spread is not on the video which will be live on March 23rd but the techniques and theme are the same, it's al about living surrounded by color. I used Gelli prints, used tea bags, old book papers for the background. Images by Tim Holtz and Nancy Baumiller #blog #paper #paint #journal #spread #design #col

Be Brave Art Journal Spread
This is my first post for 2018 and seems like ages I didn't journal. I've been working on Encaustic, making collages on wood, gold leafing, playing with resin and a few more things and I felt the need to play with paint, stencils, stamps and of course color! #blog #ink #color #collage #paper #stamping #mixedmedia #design #handmade #stamp #stencil #paint

Mixed Media Heart
I was given a 3D fiberglass heart and asked to do "something" with it for an auction with many well known Chilean artists. I really freaked out and didn't know what to do with it. After a few days thinking, I decided to do something in Finn's style. It was one of the firsts to be sold and I felt such a relief! It took almost a month to make it because of the drying times and because some days I just couldn't figure out what else to add. I covered it completely in textured pap

This is my last post for Jessica Sporn Designs. I want to thank all the team for being so supportive and generous and especially to Jessica for choosing me. This time I created a journal cover out of an old book. I started by covering everything with black gesso. Then I chose this beautiful whimsical tree stencil- Judy's Trees Stencil as my focal image Covering completely with black gesso too I rolled magazine paper in different lengths to embellish the cover and applied blac

Mixed Media Canvas
This is my first Finnabair's canvas style, I'm really happy with the result. I really have done a few more in the past a but this is the first that came out like her style to my taste. #metal #ink #paper #DIY #tutorial #mixedmedia #color #design #paint #collage #handmade

Mixed Media Paper Quilt
I wanted to create a quilt with my own patterned paper, so I stenciled over previous painted papers and cut 1.5 and 2 inch squares to start making the design. To make it easier for me, I traced a diagonal on the card stock and then I glued one square on each side of that line and from then, I started gluing one on each side of those until I completed the page. I invite you to watch the process on a VIDEO I created. My plan was to make a card with the small panel and leave the
